Mikado Yellow Pikmin are a species of Pikmin appearing in Pikmin I. They are found in Cozy Swamp's Sugary Pit's 4th sublevel. They are the late offshoot of the original Yellow Pikmin and have evolved more orangish colors and a small sprout on their stem, but retain their pointy ears. They are resistant to honey, an adhesive produced by Honeywisps. As they have no Onion, they can only be propagated through Amber Candypop Buds, but the Mikado Yellow Onion is theorized to exist and hints to its existence are shown in-game.

“Mikado Yellow Pikmin are a late offshoot of the original Yellow Pikmin, and closely related to the common Yellow Pikmin. They have evolved in volcanic caves and thus have developed a more orangish-yellow hue from consuming the local wildlife which possess beta-carotene and lutein, resulting in Specimens gaining their Mikado Yellow colour. They also have pointy ears for unknown reasons. They have also developed immunity to sticky substances such as the honey from Honeywisps.”
