The Opalescent Wollywog is a rare species of amphituber. The colorful stripes and spots along its back give it its name, and it is coated in a clear liquid with an iridescent sheen. This enemy will leap into the air when it sees a leader or a Pikmin, but unlike other amphitubers, it will jump in a semi-random direction away from them instead, making it less predictable than its relatives.

In addition to crushing Pikmin caught underneath it when it lands, the Opalescent Wollywog will scatter the iridescent liquid in a wide radius around itself. Pikmin that come in contact with this liquid will begin to panic, though they will also elevate to their bud or flower state. A degree of risk versus reward is inherent when fighting Opalescent Wollywogs, as their irregular movement and crushing attack make it difficult to balance the potential benefits that can be obtained.
