The Spindly Long Legs is an arachnorb in Pikmin: Elemental Speciation with long, spindly legs that each terminates in a sharp point rather than a foot. Its main body has one large spike on it in each of the cardinal directions, as well as down, totaling five. It has a purple and yellow color scheme, with the main body and legs being a dark purple color that fades to yellow at the spikes. It walks much faster than most of its relatives but can only kill two Pikmin at most at a time. Rock Pikmin are immune to the arachnorb's signature attack due to their innate blunt force resistance. This arachnorb also will shake Pikmin off of itself much more often than others. When killed, similarly to most arachnorbs, its abdomen splits open before its entire body disintegrates, although this particular arachnorb's abdomen splits four ways rather than two.

Its scientific name is a combination of the Latin word for needle, acus, and the Latin word for leg, crus.

“This odd arachnorb forgoes the traditional spherical body shape for one covered in spikes. They are too big to have much practical use in attacking Pikmin, so I can only surmise that this species is more adapted to hunting other indigenous creatures. Their thin, tapered legs would be much better suited for spearing a larger target like a mandiblard or dwarf bulborb.”

“When killed, it disintegrates into dust, and I'm sure its meat would likely be meager and unappetizing. But, if a leg is removed while it is still living, it could be used as a novelty giant toothpick, if you want to spice up the presentation of any giant sandwiches you've made.”

“This thing is very aggressive, and definitely a workplace hazard to wherever it could be put to work. The only saving grace I can think of is it could be killed and have its parts taken, but then it would fall apart into that dust that makes me sneeze harder than that incident with the crates full of pepper. Completely useless.”
