The Thunder Beetle is a larger, powerful relative of the Anode Beetle appearing in Pikmin: Distant Planet. It looks like a gigantic Anode Beetle. Upon sighting Pikmin, it will slowly turn to face away from them, and with a loud click, open its wing casings to expose its rear as it prepares an electrical charge. After it is preparing its attack, the Thunder Beetle will release it in the form of a massive beam of electricity that devastates all Pikmin in its way other than Yellow Pikmin. Afterward, the Thunder Beetle will close its wing casings and search for another target. To damage and defeat it, throw Yellow Pikmin onto its backside while it readies the charge, and they will damage the beetle even while it is firing. Once the Thunder Beetle's attack is done, the Yellow Pikmin on it will be forced off of it as it closes its shell.
