Attacks Launches explosive boulders

The Bombardier Cannon Beetle Larva is a lithopod in Pikmin: Infinite Exploration bearing a mostly blue skin tone. It is always buried in the ground, and when it emerges to attack, it will only show its face and the blowhole on its back, being angled upwards. The Bombardier Cannon Beetle Larva attacks by launching an explosive boulder into the air, which will then come down and explode upon impact with the ground. Most Bombardier Cannon Larvae are located on high ledges, only accessible with Yellow Pikmin or Winged Pikmin.

When dealing with Bombardier Cannon Beetle Larvae, it is important to keep moving. Once close enough to attack it, try to aim for the blowhole, as it is the weakest part of its body. When its health is lower than half, it will try to burrow; whistle the Pikmin back and wait for it to resurface. Once the Bombardier Cannon Beetle Larva resurfaces, attack the blowhole again. If it is possible to reach it without Yellow Pikmin or Winged Pikmin, take a small group of Rock Pikmin or Purple Pikmin. Twenty direct hits from either Rock Pikmin or Purple Pikmin are enough to take down the Bombardier Cannon Beetle Larva quickly.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This larval member of the lithopod family prefers to diet on sediment with high sulfuric content. This highly sulfuric earth causes the stones that these creatures launch to become highly explosive.

Louie's notes

It is important to remove the sulfur-containing sac from within this specimen as failure to do so can be lethal. Mince into small cubes and roast on a stick over an open fire.
