The Half-Snagret is a superbly deadly creature that lives in the Cloaking Field, skulking in the area's long grass. It is a huge green snavian that can move and strike Pikmin at amazingly fast speeds. Although the patches of long grass may appear to provide shortcuts to different sections of Cloaking Field, safely passing through it is made near impossible due to this beast.

To reach the Temple of Plants, the Half-Snagret will need to be defeated. Its lair is a solitary lake that is entirely devoid of other enemies, located in a distant part of the Cloaking Field. In the center of this lake is a rock formation that, when destroyed, reveals a large crack in the ground that all the lake's water drains into, leaving behind a sandy basin. Blue Pikmin are necessary to do this. Upon returning to this basin the following day, the Half-Snagret can be found and fought. The Half-Snagret is a vicious predator even outside of the grass it lurks in, swiftly slithering around and lunging at Pikmin to eat them and spit poison at them. The Half-Snagret will periodically burrow into its sandy arena to emerge elsewhere nearby and continue the fight. Because of its speed, Purple Pikmin are exceptionally useful in dramatically slowing the Half-Snagret. After its defeat, the Half-Snagret never reappears, making the tall grass in which it hunted much safer to explore and granting unrestricted access to the area's last dungeon. Be sure to have White Pikmin dig in the corner of the sandy basin to reveal the artifact the Half-Snagret was guarding before leaving its arena.
