The Static Flint Beetle is a subspecies of flint beetle appearing in Pikmin: The War of the Pikmin Planet. It is initially encountered in the Electric Complex, and later again in Poison Pit. Unlike its most common harmless relative, the Iridescent Flint Beetle, the Static Flint Beetle kills any Pikmin, except Yellow Pikmin, that touches it because of the electricity surging across its body. They typically hold items, usually keys, which are needed to access the next sublevel of a cave.

- “This subspecies of flint beetle has recently been discovered underground. Instead of ingesting pellets and rocks, it prefers electrical objects. Presumably, this gives it its characteristic electrical carapace. The reason it eats electrical objects is unknown.”
