The Trapdoor Clamclamp is a species of oysnap appearing in Pikmin: Spark. The shells of the Trapdoor Clamclamp are thinner and more rigid than those of the Pearly Clamclamp, being similar to a scallop shell in appearance. The shell has a light gray color with dark gray splotches and its rear ends in a point. Unlike other members of its species, the Trapdoor Clamclamp is found buried, usually under sand or soft soils, and the only visible part is its tongue, which is thinner than a typical clamclamp's and ends in a bulb that resembles a partially-buried Sparklium seed. When a Pikmin tries to dig it up, the signature creaking sound of the clamclamp indicates that the creature will soon snap shut and that those Pikmin must be whistled before they are eaten. Afterward, the Trapdoor Clamclamp acts like a normal clamclamp since its cover is now blown, with the main exception that it snaps its shell faster than other members of the oysnap family.
