Beginner's Pit

Beginner's Pit is the first cave in Pikmin: The Story Untold, and the first cave in the Frosted Mountains. It has two sublevels and one hazard, which is acid. Ultra-Bitter Mode changes many of the enemies encountered here into their more difficult counterparts.

Sublevel 1

• Treasures:
  • Lead-Filled Impaler (in a dead end with Female Sheargrubs or Male Sheargrubs, depending on difficulty)
  • Vanilla-Flavored Baby (inside a Breadbug nest)
• Enemies:
  • Breadbug × 1
  • Dwarf Red Bulborb × 2 (replaced by Dwarf Orange Bulborbs in Ultra-Bitter Mode)
  • Female Sheargrub × 2 (replaced by Male Sheargrubs in Ultra-Bitter Mode)
  • Snow Bulborb × 2
• Vegetation:
  • Shoot × 4

Defeat the dwarf bulborbs, Breadbug, and the sheargrubs. Collect the treasures, and enter the next sublevel.

Sublevel 2

• Treasures:
  • Torn Dimension (inside an acid-filled contraption)
• Enemies:
  • Dwarf Red Bulborb × 2 (replaced by Dwarf Orange Bulborbs in Ultra-Bitter Mode)
  • Female Sheargrub × 2 (replaced by Male Sheargrubs in Ultra-Bitter Mode)
  • Mawdad × 4 (replaced by Sarpents in Ultra-Bitter mode)
  • Red Bulborb × 1 (replaced by an Orange Bulborb in Ultra-Bitter Mode)
  • Snow Bulborb × 1
• Obstacles:
  • Acid emitter × 4
• Vegetation:
  • Emerald Candypop Bud × 2
  • Shoot × 2

Reach the Emerald Candypop Bud and throw Pikmin into it to discover Green Pikmin. Use the Green Pikmin to neutralize the acid in the contraption that is filled with it to reach the Torn Dimension treasure. Collect the treasure, and then leave the cave.
