Attacks Drills Pikmin, kicks Pikmin

The Drilling Digger is a cylinder-shaped robot appearing in Pikmin: Sinister Incinerator. It has two legs, a single round eye, and a rotating drill on the top of its head. They are deployed throughout the G-Base, digging into the earth in hopes of opening a path to the Ultimate Dark Spore. Unfortunately for them, they're digging in the wrong place; the resting place of the Ultimate Dark Spore is in the Black Hole, a long walk from the G-Base. It wanders around aimlessly and chases intruders that get too close. Any Pikmin thrown onto it will be chopped up by the spinning drill on its head, so swarming the robot is the optimal option for defeating it. It also kicks Pikmin that it catches up with, which knocks them down.

In Pikmin: Shadows of the Future

In Pikmin: Shadows of the Future, the Z Syndicate somehow obtained the blueprints for the Drilling Digger and began manufacturing them in large quantities. They are positioned wherever the Z Syndicate needs to mine for rare minerals, though they seem to have a different behavior programmed: it waits underground, with only its drill visible, for an intruder to approach. When a leader or Pikmin draws near, it jumps out of the ground and starts chasing them. Pikmin cannot be thrown onto it, and it will also kick Pikmin, which counts as shadow damage.
