A Flimflan is a species of squishsquirt appearing in Pikmin Evolution. They get their names from their appearance, which resembles a dollop of flan, complete with a caramel colored coating. They also have a single eye, resembling that of a cherry, with the eye itself being on the end of the "stem." The caramel-like coating gives the Flimflan great mobility despite its appearance, allowing it to quickly dart across the floor. The Flimflin is often found in groups of one to five of varying sizes, with larger sized Flimflans having more health but move less frequently. The Flimflan lacks any way to traditionally kill Pikmin, the closest being when they push them off a cliff into a nearby abyss. However they make up for that by scattering a sticky, syrup-like, goop when they move. This syrup is incredibly sticky and slows your Pikmin down to a crawl while also preventing them from carrying items, or digging up objects. This also means creatures such as Breadbugs, whom the Flimflan is often found with, can steal away whatever is on the syrup with your Pikmin unable to tug the items back. As such if you want to make an easy to navigate workspace, killing the Flimflan is a top priority. Killing a Flimflan is tricky however due to the fact that the syrup on its body makes it immune to having Pikmin latch on to its body, rather it only slides back and releases more syrupy slime, dealing minimum damage. Rather to damage the Flimflan, you need to send it down a grated vent or the abyss yourself, as it can't survive being diced into many tiny pieces. You can perform this method with any Pikmin type, however the heavy Alloy Pikmin are excellent choices since they push the Flimflan back the most. When you push them back to the edge of the abyss, they will try to charge up a massive counterpush, and the only way to prevent this push is to have ten Pikmin lift the Flimflan and tip it over the edge, finally killing it. Afterwards the cherry-shaped eye will fly from the depths of whence the Flimflan went after being tipped over, ripe for being collected. If you don't want to put into the effort of performing that method, you can always freeze the Flimflan, as that also freezes the syrup on its body allowing all Pikmin types to attack it directly without the risk of bouncing the body back. If you freeze it while it slides around it can even slide until it hits a wall, which while it will unfreeze the creature, it will also deal heavy damage to it. For such an unorthodox enemy it is only fitting that there are mutable ways to kill it.
