In Pikmin V, the Icebound Long Legs is an upgraded Beady Long Legs. Its feet are much larger and its abdomen is covered in ice that Rock Pikmin are needed to break, but the only way to lower its body so they can reach is to attack its joints with other Pikmin types. Its lower legs are taller than a Beady Long Legs's, so only Yellow Pikmin can reach the joints directly; other non-Rock Pikmin can climb its legs, like a Baldy Long Legs. Unlike in Pikmin 3 and beyond, all Pikmin will fall off of a leg if it stomps while they are on it, unless they are Clawed Pikmin. Lastly, while the Icebound Long Legs has its ice case, it can slam its abdomen into the ground below it to crush Pikmin.

Notes

Brittany's notes

This variant of Arachnorb utilizes a powerful antifreeze protein in both its body and web, allowing it to camp for long periods in arctic environments. It enters a hibernetic state during these times, reducing its circulation to protect its vitals and allowing ice to accumulate on the exterior of its abdomen, which gives the species its name. The protein also puts its web in a unique supercooled state that traps prey not only in the sticky silk but also in ice that immediately forms by the disruption of the strand.

Olimar's notes

You'll need to stagger it by attacking its limbs so that you can use Rock Pikmin to destroy the ice surrounding the torso. Unlike the Beady Long Legs, its legs can, and actually must, be climbed, though Rock Pikmin themselves are too girthy to climb it.

Louie's notes

Causes instant brain freeze. Literally. It is not safe to eat.
