Kroopoid family

The kroopid family consists of terrestrial, octopus-like creatures.

Miner Kroopus

Main article: Miner Kroopus

It greatly resembles its close relative, the Viridian Kroopus in appearance, but is steel-blue in color, has hooked tentacles and has a drill on its head instead of a flower. It can be found either buried in the ground or clinging to the sides of mountains with its tentacles, where it will emerge/jump down when approached. It will then jump into the air and blast itself toward Pikmin.

Prickly Bubblehead

The Prickly Bubblehead is a large enemy so named for its huge head, filled with stored water. When approached, the Bubblehead will begin to walk in circles around its target. The spiny parts of its body crackle with electricity; most Pikmin thrown at them will be stunned, and even Yellow Pikmin will simply bounce right off, so Pikmin must be aimed at the exposed light portions of its head in order to safely damage it.

Viridian Kroopus

Main article: Viridian Kroopus

It resembles a green octopus with a small flower on the tip of each tentacle and one large flower on the top of its head. It initially stays partially rooted in the ground, with all eight tentacles sticking upright out of the soil. When approached, it emerges and circles around the closest leader or Pikmin. It will periodically blast jets of air from its rotating flower fans to deflower Pikmin, and can also blow them away with a large gust from its head flower.
