Vehicle parts are components of vehicles, most often spacecraft. Collecting them is usually essential in preserving the lives of the leaders the vehicle belongs to and may improve the functionalities of the vehicle the parts belong to.
In Pikmin 1, Olimar must recover the parts of his ship that plummeted to PNF-404 as a result of the S.S. Dolphin colliding with an asteroid. While there are thirty ship parts to find, only five of them are optional. The more ship parts he collects, the more areas he can explore, and the more repaired and elaborate the S.S.
