The Barrel-Splattering Vinebhore is a new creature discovered in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature looks like a large, red drum of oil with a yellow caution sign painted on the front. The Vinebhore is usually within true oil drums and nearby or within pools of oil.

The Vinebhore waits for Pikmin and leaders to get close, and once they do, the creature will begin to shake for a few seconds before two, large, dark green vines covered in oil erupt from the ground. They will snatch up to four Pikmin, two in each hand. Afterward, the Vinebhore will squeeze them extremely hard, killing them in the process. Another attack is the Vinebhore is stabbing extremely quickly at the squad with its vines. Rock Pikmin and Weighted Pikmin are immune to this attack. The only way to defeat this creature is by attacking the oil drum in the middle. The best way to do this is by coaxing the creature into damaging itself. Running around the barrel will cause the creature to lash its vines at its barrel, damaging it. Alternatively, Iguana Pikmin can attack the barrel from a safe distance. If enough damage is dealt, the barrel will explode, the vines will retract underground, and a dark green Chrysanthemum mouth will pop out of the barrel, signifying the creature's death. Oil Pikmin will usually be needed to carry the loot out of the oil pool.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: A Vinebhore may have sharp tentacles, but they are very clumsy. Try to bait them into attacking their own oil barrel!
  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #2: Keep an eye out for oil barrels. When there are barrels, there are Barrel-Splattering Vinebhores!
