The Big Eiy is a species of neotenic pupilgeist appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It is essentially a bigger, redder version of the Eiysee, roughly the size of a Water Dumple, and with more noticeable fangs to match. Unlike other neotenic or hypertrophic enemies, the Big Eiy is treated as a normal enemy and often attacks alongside its smaller brethren in battle. It behaves much like its smaller counterpart, immersing itself in walls and lunging out at Pikmin and leaders to eat or bite them. However, its lunge is quite a bit more dangerous despite its unassuming size, as it's capable of devouring up to five Pikmin in a manner of seconds, easily making it capable of carving a swathe of destruction. A behavior unique to the Big Eiy is its ability to slam itself into the ground to fling any Pikmin latched on at the time quite a distance away, where they may be easy prey to the smaller Eiysees. Anything underneath the Big Eiy when it slams onto the ground will be crushed. Another maneuver the Big Eiy may perform is swallowing Eiysees around it and then spitting them one after another at a steady pace at Pikmin and leaders.

With a larger size comes higher vitality, the Big Eiy's being on par with a Fiery Blowhog and its contemporaries. The best course of action is to toss Pikmin onto the creature's back rather than just swarming it, since attacking Pikmin and leaders won't be in the way of a potential lunge. Like the smaller Eiysees, the Big Eiy is highly susceptible to water, and although it will be stunned rather than outright killed, it provides more than enough time to go all-out on the fleshy orb. Alloy Pikmin, with their damaging shockwave stomps, are the best type to use against this creature. When the Big Eiy dies, it splits into normal-sized Eiysees upon death, an unexpected surprise that can cost a few Pikmin lives to the unprepared. Overall, while similar to its smaller variant, the Big Eiy presents new behaviors that can't easily be thwarted.
