The Combustible Crawmad is an uncommon species of crawmad appearing in Pikmin: Connection of the Worlds. As its name would suggest, the Combustible Crawmad is a fire-based enemy. They usually reside in hot, fiery areas such as the Great Volcano. Like most crawmads, this creature will dash out from its nest to consume Pikmin. However, if at a distance, it will instead spew long-range flames that can engulf Pikmin. Fortunately, they can be easily avoided, but can be quite annoying. It is recommended to use Red Pikmin as they are impervious to the flames. Purple Pikmin also act as a substitute due to their heavy weight, and if they get stunned, the flames temporarily disappear, allowing for a quick and easy kill.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Another recently discovered member of the crawmad family, the combustible crawmad drags and consumes small creatures passing its lair just like its relative, the hermit crawmad. However, these creatures' habitats are usually hot, hostile environments that most creatures would deem too dangerous to live in. Because of this, it does not have a large food source and most species starve; only a few crawmads can successfully reproduce, which explains the low population of its kind. An obvious feature of this crawmad is that it uses fire as an offensive, so it can kill creatures that would normally be too far away to reach. It would then quickly bring the charred remains of the creature and consume it.”
Louie's notes
- “As with all fiery creatures, rinse the creature under hot water for a while. Remove the shell, extract the meat, and boil the meat for fifteen minutes on high. When done boiling, get out the barbecue sauce and start eating... A delicious substitute for chicken!”
