The Crimson Skyhopper appears in Pikmin: Global Breakdown as a member of the skyhopper family, a family of small blob-like creatures that utilize hazards to defend themselves. This creature, in particular, sets its attackers ablaze using fire. Like other skyhoppers, the Crimson Skyhopper lures nearby enemies to it and keeps them distracted until Pikmin or a leader come near, where the creature will lure the enemy or enemies to them. It will also distract nearby idle Pikmin until an enemy approaches, where it will let the new threat dispose of the Pikmin. They are very easy to kill but can be tricky to hit due to their small size and high speed.
