The Hallow Snitchbug is a scarpanid that appears in Pikmin 2: New Year. It is a relative of the Swooping Snitchbug. It flies through the air above its territory, occasionally stopping to float in place or rub its hand together. Hallow Snitchbugs ignore leaders but will swoop down towards Pikmin they see, holding up to two for some time, one in each hand, until violently throwing them down to the ground below, burying them and reverting their maturities to the leaf stage.
Hallow Snitchbugs have a pale, greenish head that features a pair of large, yellow eyes, and a pair of large antennae they use to fly. Their rotund body is primarily green-brown, much like their arms and hands, although the base of their body is light green with black rings.
Being more of a harmless nuisance than a threat, Hallow Snitchbugs can be quickly defeated without fear of Pikmin casualties. They will be brought to the ground if enough Pikmin are latched onto them simultaneously, or a single Purple Pikmin is thrown onto them. Once on the ground, a Hallow Snitchbug can be swarmed and easily killed.
