The Helm Bulblax is a species of large grub-dog and an ancient relative of the Emperor Bulblax appearing in Pikmin: Planetary Encounters. It serves as the boss of East Sinkhole, and a miniboss in Titanic Tower, and Cave of Critters, where it is smaller and multiple ones are on the same sublevel. It is a bulblax with a dark green face, a large, stone namesake helm on its head that serves as protection, red eyes, and a large green rock on its back. But it is much more aggressive than most grub-dogs and attacks anything on sight. Its helm can only be broken by Craftmin bombs or Gray Pikmin. Anything object or being it rams into goes flying, so be wary of Pikmin positions.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This gargantuan grub-dog is an example of what life could have been like when I wasn't on this planet, which makes me ponder what lived on this massive sphere of life before my time. It amazes me so to see such an ancient beast as this walking on this planet. Its skull is as hard as the helm it wears, which makes this beast a worthy opponent to any that challenge it. Competing for dominance has toughened it up, making it a very supreme predator. Its long tongue is extra sticky and coated in this creature's bacteria, which makes that no prey can escape from its wrath. I'm glad that my life-support systems allow me to take as much time as I need on this planet, so I can possibly find more ancient species such as this.”
Louie's notes
- “Cut the tongue in small cubes for a nice salad crouton substitute. Broil the chunks in a sleek pan for a chewy topping to your everyday burgers and hot dogs if you feel the need!”
