The Venom Parasite is the final boss of Pikmin: Global Breakdown, encountered at the Final Trial in the Cell Pool. It is the cause of the titular Global Breakdown initially because of its hunger for power. It assumed control of a giant tick-like bug and forced it to suck the planet's natural resources away into the tick's body. The Venom Parasite was going to use the power of the planet to locate the weakness of kryptonite, the universe's most powerful substance. Its plans were foiled by Captain Olimar and company, as they defeated the Venom Parasite and tried to give the Pikmin Planet its power back.
The Venom Parasite was created by an evil being with a command in its brain. The command overwrote everything else in the Venom Parasite's mind. The command was to acquire a dark spore from the remains of the Complex Parasite, use the Dark Spore's power to control a tick, make it drain the Pikmin Planet's power, and instantly transfer that power to the evil being before it was lost. The Venom Parasite carried out the evil being's plans perfectly by executing all of the command's tasks, and before Olimar and company killed the Venom Parasite, it gave all of its acquired power to the evil being.
