The Abyssal Dumple is an enemy appearing in Pikmin: Deconstruction. It appears in later levels, and harder remixes of earlier levels such as Collapsed Transport. It searches for prey items on the seafloor, slowly dragging itself along. Once it finds prey, it will attempt to gulp them in one bite. If its prey resists, it will attempt to zap them into submission. It can eat up to six Pikmin in one bite.

It resembles a standard Water Dumple but is much larger than its shallow-water relative. Its colors are a mixture of blue, black, and white. It tracks prey and conducts electricity using its whiskers.

Its humungous size and health pool make it a challenge. Charging Blue Pikmin at its back is the only effective way to do damage to it in water, but its tendency to eat all moving objects can be exploited to defeat it effectively by feeding it bomb rocks. In rare instances, an Abyssal Dumple can be found near the surface, and coaxed onto land, where it can be fought with any Pikmin type, but doing so is not as effective.

Notes

Olimar's notes

An extremely interesting species of Water Dumple, they slowly adapted from shallow water to the very deepest parts of rivers and lakes, causing them to grow very large to withstand the pressure. I have done quite a bit of research on their ability to conduct electricity. I will post my findings in the Hocotate newspaper when I get back home.

Louie's notes

Remove the whiskers and dump this entire beast in batter, and you have gained the ultimate family buffet!
