The Dandy Dandelion is a species of chrysanthemum appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It shares the same general design as the Creeping Chrysanthemum's Pikmin 4 design, but its body is now sky blue and as the name suggests instead of having margrets on its head it now has a pair of Dandelions instead. However unlike the other members of its species, the Dandy Dandelion also has a pair of Seeding Dandelions acting as arm-like appendages. Normally keeping with the same behaviors of its fellow species in that it burrows in the ground and only attacks when Pikmin get near its territory, certain stimuli can cause the creature to rise from the ground prematurely. That condition being when a Radio Beetle performs one of its signature calls, causing the Dandy Dandelion to rise up and almost dance to the beat the beetle is making, shaking its arms and making sounds reminiscent of maracas. The Dandy Dandelion has similar attacking patterns to fellow members of its species, i e eating Pikmin with its long, sticky, tongue, however the dandelions on its arms aren't for show, as that hides a deadly ability. When it shakes its arms, it scatters spores in front of itself, and any Pikmin who is unlucky to cross paths with the spores will turn into hostile Puffmin. These Puffmin will assist the Dandy Dandelion in battle by swarming your captain, damaging them as well as preventing them from tossing any Pikmin unless the Puffmin are shaken off. The Puffmin will also collect any corpses and refuse and feeding them to the Dandy Dandelion, which restores its health proportional to the size of the fed item. As such the danger is not only avoiding being eaten, but also avoid the spore cloud. As such a priority when fighting this creature is to remove the dandelion arms, as without them the Dandy Dandelion can't create spores. There is one of two ways you can perform this, the first and most obvious is too blow the seeds of the dandelions away. You can do this a in number of ways, activate a fan in front of the creature, have Roach Pikmin attack its arms so their wings can remove the seeds, or lure a flying blowhog to blow the seeds off the creature for you. However another method to remove the seeds is to wash them off with water, by tossing a blue syrup the watery contents can cause the arms to droop and lose their seeds, meaning the Dandy Dandelion can't use its spore creating attack anymore. However the best course of action is to use the spore immune Roach Pikmin to attack the creature, as without the spore attack the Dandy Dandelion is as dangerous as a normal Creeping Chrysanthemum, and therefore is prone to the same strategies used to defeat them. However if Roach Pikmin are unavailable, the previous two methods are very helpful against this creature. Overall without knowing the tips and tricks into defeating it, the Dandy Dandelion can prove to be one of the most dangerous enemies in the game.
