The Lesser Shearlit is a member of the mandiblard family appearing in Pikmin: The Return. It remains burrowed under the ground until Pikmin approach, and eat them if possible before burrowing again. Afterward, it will only reemerge when a leader approaches. Its larger counterpart is the Greater Shearlit.
