Pikmin: Other Frontier is a alternate and expanded take on Pikmin 2, the main difference is that Olimar and Louie crash land first in the south area of the planet rather than the north, this brings new treasures and enemies, some not native to the north side. And like Pikmin 2 after the debt is played Louie is replaced by the President who works with Olimar to rescue him.

Due to taking place on the other side of the planet, the climate is warmer meaning that Candypop buds can grow on the surface, with Crimson, Gold, and Lapis Lazuli buds growing on the surface exclusively and Ivory, Cyan, and Amber buds grow exclusively underground.

Pikmin Types

Red Pikmin

The strongest attackers of the Pikmin types due to their pointy nose. They have a immunity to Fire hazards and are best for attacking Firey enemies.

Blue Pikmin

The Water breathing Pikmin, they are the only one to survive under the Ocean's Surface. New to this game is their abilty to be immune to Panic.

Yellow Pikmin

Immunity to Electricity and the highest throwers, they are also the only ones to weild the returning Bomb Rocks. Overall a very adaptable Pikmin.

White Pikmin

The Poison immune underground diggers, they now have a Onion along side the other three types. Their poisonous effects are just as potent as they were back in the orginal Pikmin 2.

Cleaner Pikmin

Pale Blue colored Pikmin grown from Cyan Candypop buds, they are immune to the brainwashing effects of Mold. They have twice the carrying streghth of normal Pikmin.

Honey Pikmin

Gooey Pikmin grown from Amber Candypop buds. They are the hardest to shake off and are hard to shake off. They can also convert liquids into solids.

Lithomin

Lithomin are parasitically infected Lithopods, they gain an immunity to being crushed and attacks from rocky foes. They also have the longest throw range.

Areas

Their are five areas in the game each with four caves each bringing the total number of caves to 20. Like the orginal Pikmin 2 the final area won't be unlocked until the dept is payed.

Stump of Promise

An area taking place on a series of giant stumps, this areas is quite simple at first until the discovery of a secret drainable lake.

A sewer like area, this is where large bodies of Water and more complex navigation is introduced.
