The Stubborn Bulblon is a prototype bulborb found in the files of Hey! Pikmin. They lack eyestalks and their eyes are positioned on their faces instead. They also come in six different colors.

The Stubborn Bulblon is a ferocious grub-dog encountered only in the final area, Endless Sea. It is larger than most other grub-dogs, even a Fiery Bulblax. Stubborn Bulblons are highly predatorial creatures, actively hunting for food in its territory when it isn't sleeping. When approached while sleeping, a Stubborn Bulblon will awaken, a behavior exhibited by Orange Bulborbs.
Stubborn Bulblons resemble the average bulborb except for its lack of eyestalks. Its eyes are instead positioned in its eye sockets. Similar to the Carnation Bulborb, the Stubborn Bulblon's body is colored the same except for the lighter-colored spots on its back as well as its white fangs. Only topaz Stubborn Bulblons are encountered in Pikmin: Wide World.
The optimal way to defeat a Stubborn Bulblon is to wait until it stops to sleep, using a dose of ultra-spicy spray on Pikmin before charging them towards the creature's vulnerable backside. Any Pikmin that don't latch on before the Stubborn Bulblon rises to its feet should be thrown onto the creature as quickly as possible to reduce the risk of it being able to eat any Pikmin. With luck, a Stubborn Bulblon can be taken down quickly with no Pikmin losses. Should a Stubborn Bulblon target an unprepared squad, however, the best course of action would be to flee, only fighting it head-on as a last resort. Pikmin can be thrown into its eyes to irritate and damage the creature. Hiding underneath vegetation will only briefly distract the creature, as Stubborn Bulblons are intelligent predators that can sense where their prey is hiding.

- "I've encountered and documented a wide array of grub-dogs during my visits to this planet, and few can rival the sheer ferocity of the stubborn bulblon. Physically, it resembles a cross between a typical bulborb and a carnation bulborb, but behaviorally, it resembles a spotty bulbear. This creature almost constantly prowls its territory, relentlessly persuing prey it sees, smells, or otherwise detects, viciously devouring them once it grabs hold of said prey. Should its prey be able to scramble out of its reach, it will seemingly shake with rage before resuming its hunt. Extreme caution should always be taken around this fearsome creature."
