In Pikmin 4: The World to Free, the Flagepole is a young Cloaking Wollywog. They are able to blend in with their surroundings, becoming nearly invisible for a brief period of time, giving Flagepoles their clever name. This cloaking effect wears off rather quickly since Flagepoles are young and can't maintain their camouflage for very long.
Notes
Tike's notes
- “As it follows the same trait as its parents, blending itself with the environment, but doing so to protect itself. However, it can't hold its camouflage for too long due to it still being in a younger state. They are quick swimmers to the point that they can outmaneuver one of our vehicles.”
Alice's notes
- “These things are shyer than my youngest sibling, Joy. It's quite surprising how it grows up to be such a competent predator when all it does young is flee. I must say, their appearance makes them seem braver.”
Captain Pikmin's notes
- “These annoying pests always hang out in the water, so detecting them right away may seem impossible. Keep an eye on rippling water to track its movements.”
