The Flatty Breadbug is an enemy in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. It has a similar morphology to a Breadbug, but with yellow eyes. Its whitish-beige body has a pair of elongated, wing-like protrusions with many brown spots, making it resemble a piece of pita bread. Its large variant is the Giant Flatty Breadbug.

After emerging from their burrows, Flatty Breadbugs will give themselves a running start and take flight. The Flatty Breadbug will glide to an object, pick it up, and then haphazardly ferry it back to its burrow. When it brings it there, it will stamp it into its hole. Because of the way it transports objects, Pikmin can not be killed by the Flatty Breadbug. Pikmin thrown onto the item the Flatty Breadbug is carrying will weigh it down until they drop it to the ground, which is equivalent to dragging a Breadbug back to base in that it damages the Flatty Breadbug. Its body is soft enough to be directly attacked by all Pikmin types.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Due to their light and nearly hollow insides, the flatty breadbug is capable of flight. Nonetheless, it appears to be incredibly clumsy. Compared to its relative, the fireflap bulborb, the flatty breadbug is not a mimic and appears to be a strange blend between the former and standard breadbugs. Perhaps evolution will streamline it into a more suitable form...

Louie's notes

Its body has a flaky texture and often powders your tongue. I would say use butter, but it still doesn't taste particularly good...
