The Gluttoad is a fossidile that appears in Pikmin: New Frontiers. It can be found in Meszmerizing Marsh, Verdant Tropics, Toppled Kingdom, as well as various caves in the areas. They behave similarly to Wollyhops in that they can leap into the air and crush Pikmin and leaders, but differ in that they stick out their frog-like tongue to eat Pikmin. They can only consume one Pikmin at a time, however, and generally, the attack is only a threat if it is being approached from the front.

- “This creature appears to fill the same ecological niche as amphitubers such as Wollyhops. Evidence suggests that this species’ morphology developed as a direct response to an overlap with the range of amphitubers in its environment. Furthermore, it has managed to out-compete them for territory due to its tenacious appetite, upward-pointing eyes that allow it to easily see above it, and the highly developed sensory nodules along its back.”
