The Javelinana is an enemy that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Like most members of the fruitshot family, the creature has four green petals grouped together at its base. On those petals is a large, orange, suction cup-like plant with a banana inside. The Javelinana is a small plant, one of the smallest of the fruitshots. However, like most members of their species, they can come in a variety of different sizes depending on their environment.
Javelinanas will stand idly until Pikmin approach. The plant has an extremely large range and can detect Pikmin from extremely far away, similar to a Sniper Pumphog. Once it locks onto its target, it will fire out a banana at the locked-on position. The banana will be shot out in a javelin arc, in which it will penetrate through any Pikmin caught in the way, killing them. The Javelinana can also damage other enemies if it ends up hitting one. Once the Javelinana smashes into the ground, it will explode, throwing mushy banana everywhere and leaving a large peel that rapidly decays into the ground after thirty seconds. This banana peel will slip up any enemies or Pikmin that walk over it, which can cause chaos very easily. Once fired, the banana will be reloaded after six seconds.
Javelinanas can cause lots of chaos if not careful. Rock Pikmin are one of the best Pikmin to use due to their blunt-force resistance, along with Weighted Pikmin. Unlike the Kokonut, the plant is very fragile and can be taken out with enough damage. Once defeated, it will wither away, leaving nothing to be collected. All remaining banana peels will disappear upon the plant's defeat.
In Overlord mode, the Javelinana can fire bananas every three seconds, and the peels will not disappear for an entire minute. Along with this, some bananas may randomly explode on impact, potentially killing Pikmin.

- “Like most fruitshots, an extreme abundance of energy allows for this plant to grow bananas at an extreme rate in which they can fire to deter attackers. The bananas seem to have an extremely explosive property. This is due to the increased amount of energy and potassium in the banana, making it completely inedible and best used as a weapon.”
