The Kraken Jellyfloat is a boss in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. It is a large jellyfloat with translucent, black skin. It has faded yellow dots on its bell and numerous tentacles that are thick and like a squid's. It is the boss of the Collapsed Reef in Creature's Quay.

When the squad walks over a massive, crop circle-like marking on the ground, it will descend into the arena. The Kraken Jellyfloat will generate thick gobs of poison inside its bell and drop them into the arena as puddles, which White Pikmin can deal with by breaking them with their stems. It can also absorb Pikmin as most other Jellyfloats can, and they can be freed if enough Pikmin directly hit its cap. It can also squirt steams of poison from the tips of its tentacles. When its health is halved, it will split into two momentarily, each with one antenna. They can drop more globs of venom but lose their ability to squirt poison from their tentacles or eat Pikmin. It does not actually die if its health is drained until the two halves converge again.

When it is refought in Gladiator's Gulch, puddles of lubricant will be scattered across the arena.

Notes

Olimar's notes

A highly versatile predator that is capable of surviving at depths most creatures would flounder in. It uses its deathly neurotoxins to incapacitate prey and consume them. It also has the ability to split into two smaller organisms, seemingly controlled under the same brain. Like the arachnode, it's hard to tell if these two organisms are separate entities or not. Knowing what this planet can do at times, both are certainly possible.

Louie's notes

Tastes like lead.

KRAKEN!? As in, "ensnares and destroys ships and their entire crew" kraken? I guess it doesn't matter if my body's occupied by someone else already.
