Attacks Steals sprays, harms leaders

The Mangruta is an enemy in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. It resembles a Mamuta with maroon, woody skin. It has massive yellow eyes surrounded by tan markings that make it appear as if the bark was peeled off. The Mangruta's body is a host for many plants, such as lichens, thin vines, fiddlehead-like sprouts, and even a small shrub. Ultimately, it resembles a mangrove tree. The Mangruta is aggressive, but only targets leaders. It pounds leaders into the ground to damage them, also siphoning one dose of ultra-spicy spray as it does so. It does not target Pikmin, even if they're attacking it. While the Mangruta may try to shake them off, it never actually harms them.

Notes

Olimar's notes

As with most members of the shepik family, the mangruta harvests plants for culinary and decorative purposes. However, the mangruta, with its semi-permeable skin, watery internal contents, and nutrient-rich deposits, actively grows these plants on its body. In order to support its produce, the mangruta actively senses and collects ultra-spicy nectar to use as a growth agent for its plants.

Louie's notes

Tastes vaguely like seaduck. Still not necessarily edible, though.

Ship's comments

This is one of those creatures that seems to exist solely to inconvenience us. I feel there's some external force deliberately making these creatures just to spite us, and that makes me sick.
