The Mareening Dirigibug is a semiaquatic dirigibug appearing in Pikmin: Redemption. As the pun in its name implies, the Mareening Dirigibug dwells above and within watery locations, hovering above water bodies and also swimming within them when unable to remain airborne. When approached by Pikmin or leaders, a Mareening Dirigibug will produce specialized bomb rocks that act like depth charges, having a wider blast radius and creating large waves upon detonation that push Pikmin over and away. Once its air sacs have popped, the creature falls into the water below itself, if any, and begins swimming about not unlike a fish, occasionally firing what appears to be torpedos from its mouth. These torpedos simply knock over Pikmin it speeds past or through, but will explode upon hitting a solid entity or object. The fin on the back of any Mareening Dirigibug suggests a previously unknown relationship between dirigibugs and groinks.
