The Phosbat Larva appears in Pikmin E: The Next Adventure as a phosbat in its youngest stage of life. It very rarely is ejected from phosbat pods, and upon emerging from one a Phosbat Larva will squirm around in an attempt to eat Pikmin. However, it is not able to do so, and will merely nibble on the leaf, bud, or flower at the end of a Pikmin's stem, reducing its maturity stage even twenty to thirty seconds and eventually reducing the Pikmin to a mere sprout buried in the ground. When a Phosbat Larva is killed, it will emit a high-pitched scream that alerts other creatures, namely members of the aerodentia family, in the immediate area.
