The Puffer Wollywog is a rather peculiar subspecies of amphituber appearing in Pikmin: Shadows of the Future. Its body is flattened and has a dense sheet of folded quills covering it. The Puffer Wollywog is incapable of jumping; instead, when it is approached, it fills with air and swells up into a large ball, causing the quills to point out and become venomous barbs. It will then roll onto Pikmin to poison and crush them. In order to damage this creature, a single Pikmin must be thrown at its face. The resulting distraction causes the amphituber to release the air, returning to its original shape. It remains stunned and vulnerable for a few seconds before getting up and attacking once more.
