The Royal Wraith appears in Pikmin: The Winds of Light as the boss and ruler of its namesake cave, the Royal Wraith's Palace. It is similar to the Waterwraith as it is a supernatural humanoid figure composed of a liquid substance and requires Purple Pikmin to kill, but walks on two legs at all times, is royal purple, has a wide head topped by a large crown, and carries a golden cane. To kill Pikmin, the Royal Wraith can stab them with its cane, crush them under its feet, breathe a short jet of fire, produce orbs of nonlethal electricity, and eat them using a blob-like form. Throughout the fight, the Royal Wraith is aided by six Wraith Blobs that restore its health and reappear sometime after being defeated. Its death animation involves it convulsing and then falling on its back before bursting into harmless particles. Defeating it yields its crown, the Circle of Regality, and the Doomsday Device.

Notes

Olimar's notes

The Royal Wraith bears resemblance to some other wraiths such as the Waterwraith and uses attacks similar to others, like the supposed moves of the mythological Plasm Wraith. It does, however, walk around with a sort of swagger, making it seem fit for its kingly position. It has many minions and pets, ranging from Wraith Blobs to Royal Long Legs, that seem to assist it in dealing with intruders at its unspoken command. It also likes the color purple.
