The Thorned Pinesnake is a boss trundlug in Pikmin E: Remastered that initially heavily resembles a Spike Pikmin sprout. Upon attempting to pluck it, it will rapidly emerge from the ground, causing Pikmin nearby to go into a panic. Afterward, it will begin to slither around the arena, eating any Pikmin that it sees, as well as skewering any that try to attack it using the thorns hidden in its shell. As a result, only Spike Pikmin can be used to navigate their shell safely, and attack the top of its head. Upon being defeated, it will spit up the Spike Onion.
