The Absorbion is a species of sharpshell appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It shares similar body structures to it's close relatives the Porquillion and Torquillion, that being a quadruped mammal with a segmented bulb-like structure on its back. In this case the Absorbion has a yellow main body and it's backside is orange and notably has a soft, porous texture rather than the firmer texture of its compatriots. It is found nearby coastal areas such as beaches and coral reefs, often being seen sunbathing and eating any seeds it comes across. It can also be seen ingesting pellets from pellet posys and nectar from eggs with its long tongue to restore its own health, so if your having issue finding those items in certain areas, this creature is the reason why. Aside from restoring health, ingesting nectar and pellets allows it's backside to become able to secrete an amber colored fluid similar in complexion and appearance to the fluid produced by the Foolix. This fluid acts as protection to the Absorbion, nullifying not only any direct attacks from Pikmin, but also damage from fire as the fluid will just extinguish it, from acid as the fluid will just cause it to evaporate, from water as that will just make the fluid more thicker and durable than it already was, and from explosions as the fluid will just bounce off the force from the blast. The only way to remove the fluid is to chip away at it by tossing Pikmin onto the creature's hide and slowly break down the fluid protecting the Absorbion. However the Absorbion is far from passive, as it can scatter some of it's fluid as an attack, creating a sticky trap for Pikmin to get trapped in, while this may make the fluid on the Absorbion's back less thick and therefore easier to break, that doesn't mean it's just throwing the fluid away as at any time it can inflate it's backside to suck the tossed fluid back into itself, causing any Pikmin that were trapped in the scattered fluid to die as a result. As such the best way to defeat the Absorbion is too make it suck up something it shouldn't suck up. The best option is to spray either ice or poison onto the fluid, which react to it in different ways. Ice will simply freeze the fluid, when ice is sprayed on the main body of the Absorbion it causes the fluid on its back to weigh it down and make it slower to move, but most importantly it allows Pikmin to damage the creature without chipping away at the fluid. When sprayed on scattered fluid, the ice will freeze the fluid solid and when sucked up by the Absorbion the heavy chunk of ice will hit the Absorbion and not only cause heavy damage to it but also stun it, making it vulnerable to attacks. When the fluid is poisoned however it will cause the Absorbion to not be able to create more fluid for quite some time due to the poison messing up it's glands, allowing your squad to defeat it easier. When defeated the Absorbion will perish and will have a piece of refuse be dislodged from its backside to be collected as well as a assortment of sprays and pellets to collect, making it quite the valuable creature to hunt.

Poisoning the fluid, however, prevents the Absorbion from secreting any more for a long time due to the toxins interfering with the functions of its glands. Notes

Ivy's journal

This strange species of sharpshell seems to have developed a strange mutation, replacing its needles with congregated body fluids. However, it seems that toxic substances that enter its system seem to end up stopping its fluid production. These fluids are actually the material a Sharpshell uses to create spines, but the compounds are missing to actually harden said spines.

Leni's recipe book

This gel seems to have a lemony taste. After harvesting the gel, mold it into the style of a cake. Add sliced pellet posies, bananas, and strawberries to add flavor.

Marvin's strategy guide

This animal seems to have some strange substance around it that we can't damage. But if physics class taught me anything... it was... uh... I don't remember! But hitting this guy with frozen bits of its own fluid seems to do the trick.
