The Springtrap Dumple is an advanced species of Ichthyosa grub-dog found in Pikmin Z. It bears a slight resemblance to the Water Dumple, but it has tan skin, an elongated body, and a circular mouth that expands to swallow prey whole. It is a decent swimmer but is relatively slow on land.
Biology
- Diet: fish and small animals
- Predators: unknown
This species is an ambush predator with a high accuracy rate. It lies underground, commonly below shallow water, waiting for prey to swim by for it to launch itself upward and swallow it whole. Whether or not the Springtrap Dumple successfully catches its prey, it will quickly burrow back into its hiding spot to continue hunting. If hunting on land, the Springtrap Dumple have difficulty burrowing back into its hiding spot, allowing for more time to attack it.
Piklopedia entry
- "This species of dumple has developed a stealthy hunting technique, in which it will launch forward after prey. It detects vibrations using its whiskers, which allow it to sense nearby prey, giving this otherwise blind creature a means to see the world around it."
Strategy
Coax it into emerging from its hiding spot and swarm it with Pikmin. This method of killing a Springtrap Dumple is more difficult in water than it is on land, but it is most effective.
