For you see, Olimar, I am the true guardian of this planet. I am the protector of all of this planets life; trying to keep it safe from any foreign invasion. A while after Olimar and Louie had repaid the debt, it had been revealed that someone has stolen all of the presidents money! Now, the two bottom rung Hocotation employees must frantically go back to PNF-404 to earn more money for their president. Unfortunately, an unnerving being has been stalking them throughout their trip; and is planning to stop them at all costs. With numerous new areas, caves, enemies, treasures, puzzles, and mechanics, Decayed Leaf aims to be a more content-filled incarnation of Pikmin 2.

After Olimar and Louie return to their planet from their encounter with the Overlord, Louie is tasked with a cargo transport of dozens of crates of Golden Pikpik carrots. Unfortunately for Louie, his sleeping nature causes him to release all of the crates down onto PNF-404 while he’s sleeping. Now he must go return to the planet and retrieve all of the crates, with the help of a new mole friend, Willow. Pikmin: Pitstop serves as a significantly smaller sequel to Pikmin: Decayed Leaf.
