The Poison Breadbug is a species of Breadbug that should only be fought with White Pikmin. It looks like a normal Breadbug, but is a pale purple with white eyes and pupils. As it wanders around, it leaves a trail of white poison powder. Anything that it holds must be carried by White Pikmin, as it becomes coated in the fine, white poison powder. At a quarter of its health, the Poison Breadbug will intentionally scatter poison powder on Captain Olimar's Pikmin. When defeated, it succumbs as a normal Breadbug would, although it is still covered in the poison powder, and thus must be carried by White Pikmin. Poison Breadbugs will not hesitate to enter and temporarily contaminate water. If Poison Breadbugs enter and exit water that completely submerges them, they will no longer pose any threat to any non-White Pikmin. When a Poison Breadbug enters shallow water, that pool of water will be contaminated with poison until the Poison Breadbug exits the water and the water becomes clear again.
