Battering Groinks are a rather interesting type of biomechanical creature only found during the day, opposed to the night-only Gatling Groink. While it is unable to shoot projectiles, it's still just as dangerous because once a player enters its radius, it will proceed to charge at fast speed right to the captain and Pikmin. This is especially dangerous as it can launch Pikmin into hazards. If two are present in the same area, both Battering Groinks will occasionally ram eachother, killing whatever's in between the two ala crushing them in both groinks.

The Battering Groink can't be attacked head on due to its durable shield, and you'll have to avoid its charges in order to reach its vulnerable backside. This can be a bit difficult within [[Pikmin Z/Dungeons|Dungeons]], as most encounters are in enclosed spaces. It can't harm directly unless there's more than one Battering Groink present, but it's still worth avoiding as hazards are found with Battering Groinks as well, or it can kill Pikmin by ramming them into a wall, or other solid object.

"It's difficult to say if this is indeed a creature or some ancient technology, but one thing I can say is that it's an interesting alteration to a typical groink. Having to sacrifice such a potent weapon for a durable shield make this creature quite noble."

Strategy

The Battering Groink can't be attacked head-on due to its durable shield, and its charging will have to be avoided in order to reach its vulnerable backside. This can be a bit difficult within dungeons, as most encounters are in enclosed spaces. It can't harm directly unless there's more than one Battering Groink present, but it's still worth avoiding as hazards are found with Battering Groinks as well, or it can kill Pikmin by ramming them into a wall or other solid objects.
