Dwarf Frigid Bulblaxes are the offspring of the Frigid Bulblax appearing in Pikmin 4. There are one hundred and one of them found with the Frigid Bulblax. They have not yet developed the icy coverings protecting their backsides, nor can they blow cold air or stomp. When the Frigid Bulblax dies, so do any remaining Dwarf Frigid Bulblaxes.
The Dwarf Frigid Bulblax resembles an ordinary dwarf bulborb in shape but is much smaller in size, even smaller than a leader. Much like the Frigid Bulblax, these creatures have light gray skin, a cyan rump with black spots, white fangs and claws, and a red mouth. Its pupils are white and its sclerae are black.
Defeating a Dwarf Frigid Bulblax is best done by swarming them with Pikmin. Throwing a Pikmin directly onto one's back will kill it instantly, but due to its small size, this isn't recommended. Dwarf Frigid Bulblaxes have ravenous appetites and can quickly eat Pikmin, but only one at a time. Unlike with Bulborb Larvae, Pikmin that are bitten can be saved.

The Dwarf Cooling Bulblax is a grub-dog appearing in Pikmin: Evolution Unleashed. It does not yet possess the power to freeze Pikmin as it is only a juvenile. If left alive for seven days, it will mature into a Cooling Bulblax, which it resembles a smaller version of, and so it should be taken out as soon as possible.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This species of grub-dog is the juvenile form of a cooling bulblax. It has yet to possess the power of freezing prey. It likes to be around adults for protection and warmth. It hates cold weather now, but when it matures, it will love it.”
Louie's notes
- “Boil at three-hundred-sixty degrees and add spinach. Then try a special seasoning to add that kick to your special dwarf meatloaf.”
