The Mistwraith is a supernatura that appears in Pikmin: New Frontiers. It is a relative of the Waterwraith that has a body that appears to be made entirely of mist and rides around on a pair of rollers made of rusted metal. It is the boss of the cave, Hazy Hollow.
On every sublevel of the cave beside the final, after five minutes, it will drop from the ceiling and begin to search for Pikmin or leaders. When this occurs, heavy fog fills the cave and makes it difficult to see, though the Mistwraith makes a distinct metallic squeaking sound that warns of its proximity. Once it spots a Pikmin or leader, it will attempt to crush them with its rollers. On all sublevels except the final, it is invulnerable. On the final sublevel, the Mistwraith is able to be battled once Purple Pikmin are obtained using Violet Candypop Buds. Just like the Waterwraith, the Mistwraith becomes vulnerable when Purple Pikmin are thrown at it. When its health is low enough, its rollers will break and it will begin to run around in a frantic manner. In this state, it is completely harmless, though Purple Pikmin must still be thrown at it before sending other Pikmin to defeat it.
