In ''[[Pikmin X: Deep Freeze]]'', the '''Ranged Groink''' is similar to the [[Gatling Groink]], but never wanders; it only ever stays mounted in place, sitting atop a bed of [[crystal]]. It also has a much greater attacking distance and can gun down [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] from afar without having to leave its sentry position. First, it aims with a red laser, similar to the [[Man-at-Legs]], then it fires three high-velocity [[Explosion|explosive]] projectiles at its target in quick succession. [[Leader]]s and Pikmin can easily avoid the attack by taking cover, then charging in to attack while the creature reloads.
