The Base of the Tree is the first area in Pikmin: Last Chance. Olimar accidentally crashlands here when he realizes Louie was stranded on the planet once again.
Plot
Captain Olimar falls from the top of the tree after a collision and lands in a bush, breaking his fall. He is then dispensed at the starting location.
"Ouch! That fall was painful... Where even am I? Am I near Pikmin? Is it safe here?"
Olimar looks to the left and sees the Colorful Fan. He runs up to it.
"Wow! A ship piece! If I keep on finding pieces like this, I'll be home in no time!"
Olimar looks to the right and sees a group of three Red Pikmin struggling, with no success, to reach their Onion.
"Oh look! Pikmin! Maybe they can help me!"
Olimar runs up to the Pikmin, gets the Onion down by throwing them up at it, and gathers enough Pikmin to carry the Colorful Fan.
"Wait, where do I carry it? Oh, never mind. What's important is that I have the piece!"
