The Crashing Site is the first area in Pikmin I. As the name suggests, it is where Olimar and Louie crash.
Story
After Olimar and Louie return to PNF-404, Olimar accidentally crashes into a tree branch, forcing Louie out of his cockpit. When the Hocotate ship lands, Olimar is ejected, and both of them see 3 Blue Pikmin battling a Dwarf Yellow Bulborb. Olimar calls the Blue Pikmin to his side and uses them to end the Dwarf Yellow Bulborb's life. Contact with Louie is then reestablished, and Louie is seen in a pool of water, beside a small island harboring the Blue Onion, which ejects a single Blue Pikmin seed. Louie is particularly perturbed by this but then plucks the sprout anyway. He then propagates 5 Blue Pikmin and uses them to build a bridge between himself and Olimar, reuniting the two. The Rubber Beauty is then collected, and then the day ends.
