The Earthquake Empress Bulblax is a massive grub-dog appearing in Pikmin: Planetary War. One is encountered in Gritty Garden, and in one dungeon in the Giant Boss Arena. It is a tan-colored relative of the Empress Bulblax that has dark yellow spots. It has a larger mouth that it uses to scoop up and eat Pikmin and smaller prey. It can also birth Bulborb Larvae, which will attack when given the chance. When its health reaches low levels, the Earthquake Empress Bulblax will make holes in the ground around itself by causing tremors. Anything caught in these holes will suffer instant death, making the Earthquake Empress Bulblax a very dangerous foe. Upon death, its body will fall into a massive sinkhole that opens under itself, rendering its remains impossible to collect.

Olimar's notes

This gargantuan predator is one dangerous foe. It has the tendency to cause seismic disturbances and will make holes in the territory where it lives, and a mouth large enough to scoop up prey with. It also can give birth to young bulborb larvae, and may start causing tremors if it is unable to feed upon prey or move through the sand. Speaking of which, I wonder why it sinks into the sand... Maybe it is made of sand and grit? I'll have to study more.

Louie's notes

Inedible. It sinks into the sand, making it a sandwich!
