Attacks Crushes Pikmin with silk, plucks Pikmin

The Hoarding Stringfly is a whiskerpillar appearing in Pikmin: Spark as the adult form of the Thieving Whiskerpillar. They have a blue body, cyan wings with indigo spots, and a teal proboscis. Dwelling exclusively in underground Dens made out of dirt and insulated with silk, Hoarding Stringflies live alongside their larval stage and work together to collect food and other items for the den. They only appear outdoors if a sufficient number of their larvae perish because of leaders and Pikmin. Otherwise, they stay in the dens, tending to the food the group collects. Their silk is unique in that it hardens and solidifies when exposed to air, crushing anything it lands on. The silk can be destroyed by Pikmin unrestricted by it. Rock Pikmin are immune to the silk's crushing effects, making them ideal choices against this creature. Additionally, like other stringflies, the Hoarding Stringfly can pluck Pikmin sprouts with its proboscis. Upon death, they sometimes yield ultra-bitter sprays.

Notes

Abel's medical journal

Silk could be used to make prosthetics or casts due to their durability, but their hard texture makes them difficult to work with.

Lyn's sale review

Light and durable, its silk can be used to make plastic that is house-grade quality. The creature itself also makes a great pet if you don't mind it stealing your stuff.
