The Hostile Aquifer is a subarea in the Karst of Gales that is notable in that it can only be entered by Blue Pikmin; the entrance is through a submerged tunnel within a deep pool of water that is inaccessible to Winged Pikmin and Moss Pikmin. As a result, the entire sub-area is mostly flooded but also full of hazards that Blue Pikmin will have trouble dealing with. To compensate, there are candypop buds available to obtain the necessary Pikmin types, but because most of the Hostile Aquifer is underwater, they might have to be turned back into Blue Pikmin at some point.
